A web store based on Magento was developed for Werbezeichen AG (originally for KM-Werbemittel GmbH).

In 2012, we developed a store system based on Magento specifically for the advertising media trade. This was used for the first time at laprinta. Over the years, we have implemented several soft and full relaunches of laprinta and are proud to have been supporting this store for over 10 years.

In the course of this, an own theme was developed, which was highly SEO-optimized and designed for the highest performance. The Magento store system was chosen due to its widespread use and good expandability. Over 40 modules were developed for Magento to meet the special requirements of the promotional products industry, which have massively expanded the store and its functions.

These included an inquiry form, which customers can use to request a quote for their product configuration directly, or a module for calculating the complex price composition in the advertising material area, where costs for finishing, printing, etc. are added to the costs for the product itself, all of which are also dependent on the selected quantity.

However, interfaces were also created to import products into the store and to transfer orders and inquiries to merchandise management systems. In the early days, Promotional Office was connected as a merchandise management system. A special bidirectional interface was developed for this purpose. After the takeover by Werbezeichen AG, Promotional Office was discontinued due to the lack of functionality and outdated technology and a separate solution was developed, for which we also developed an individual bidirectional interface.

Stock levels are queried live directly from the manufacturers and displayed in the store.

As the search function is the most frequently used function on store pages these days, Magento's standard search was replaced by an implementation of Elasticsearch. This delivers far better and more accurate search results, and much faster too.

Magento was heavily customized by us to achieve even better performance. We developed our own caching mechanisms and implemented Redis as a backend cache.

Thanks to our SEO measures, the client has managed to move from a non-existent visibility to the first page of Google results for all relevant keywords in the advertising media industry within six months. This enabled the client to grow into one of the largest online advertising material retailers in Germany.
